TOM FLYNN first played for Sts. Peter and Paul before going on to star at Messmer High School.  He then moved on to Marquette University where he was the team’s scoring leader in the 1964 and 1965 seasons.  He is currently the 16th leading scorer in the school’s history.
BOB PIERCY was a grade school standout at Gesu before gaining All Conference honors at Messmer.  Bob’s outside shooting ability earned him the opportunity to play at Marquette University from 1969-1971.
JOHN JOHNSON is probably the most successful product of this Tournament, playing for St. Benedict.  He then enjoyed standout careers at Messmer High School and the University of Iowa.  He then played 12 years in the NBA, winning its championship in 1979 with Seattle.
GARY GRZESK led St. Augustine to its second place finish in the 1964 tourney.  He then went on to All State tournament team honors at Don Bosco High School and a successful career at Marquette University.
JEFF JONAS played in the 1969 tourney for St. Sebastian and coach Rick Majerus.  He led Marquette High to two WISAA titles in addition to being named a high school All-American before going to the University of Utah and earning WAC All Conference honors in 1977.
RICK MAJERIS coached at St. Sebastian while attending Marquette University.  After spending 11 years as an assistant coach there, he was named the men’s coach in 1984.  He has since coached for the Milwaukee Bucks, Ball State, and is currently at the University of Utah, where he has been named coach of the year in the WAC three times.
MIKE NABENA competed for St. Sebastian in the 1991 tourney.  After achieving all conference honors at Wauwatosa East, Mike accepted a scholarship to UW-Green Bay.
DAMON KEY played for St. Leo in the 1986 tournament.  He then led Marquette High to the WISAA championship in 1990 when he won All State honors.  At Marquette University he took his team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament in 1994.  He finished his career as the school’s 5th leading scorer.
ERNIE PEAVEY played for Holy Family in the 1986 tournament, and after Whitefish Bay High, he joined UW-Platteville where he was All-WSUC three times.  He led the Pioneers to an un-defeated 31-0 season, an NCAA Division III title in 1995and was named MVP of the Final Four.
GARY GRZESK was the 1987 Serra MVP after leading St. Jude to the tournament championship.  He led Wauwatosa East to a runner-up finish in the 1991 WIAA tournament.  His success there won him a scholarship to UW-Green Bay.
SHANNON SMITH played for Mother of Perpetual Help in the 1987 tourney.  He went on to Dominican High School leading his team to the 1991 WISAA title while achieving All State honors.  His success led to scholarships at Marquette and UW-Milwaukee.  Shannon finished 10th in the nation in scoring in 1995.
JOHN MARTINEZ played for St. Rose in the 1985 tournament.  John attained All-State honors while leading Marquette High to a WISAA title in 1989.  he then went on to a successful career at UW-Green Bay.
ANDY KOWSKE took St. Agnes to a runner-up finish in the 1993 tournament before leading Dominican High School to the 1997 WISAA title and earning All-State and All-Conference honors to himself.  Andy started for the University of Wisconsin Final four team.
DIANTE FLENORAL ,who played for St. Nicholas in the 1991 tourney, went on to Milwaukee King; leading them to the 1995 WIAA title and in the process earning the WIAA tournament MVP.  He played on scholarship at Ohio University where he was a three year starter.
GARY ROSENBERGER competed in the 1970 Tournament for St. Margaret Mary.  He won two state championships while at Marquette High, before going on to Marquette University where he played on the 1977 NCAA Division I championship team.
MIKE KELLEY played for St. Mary – Menomonee Falls in the 1993 tournament.  At Pius IX High School, he became the first boy to play varsity basketball as a freshman and was the final player awarded the Metro Conference player of the year in 1997.  At the University of Wisconsin he established himself as one of the finest defenders in the Big Ten and started on the Final Four team.
DAN JOHNSON played for Sts. Cecilia & James in the 1991 tourney before becoming an All-State player at Homestead.  Dan played at UW-Milwaukee.
RODNEY BUFORD played for 1991 tournament champion Central City Catholic.  After a successful high school career at Milwaukee Vincent, he went on the Creighton where he made All-Conference twice.  Rodney is currently playing in the NBA.
QUEMONT GREER led Catholic Urban Academy to the 1996 Padre Serra championship.  Greer was an All-State high school player at Milwaukee Vincent.  Quemont is currently on scholarship at DePaul.

STEVE NOVAK played for St. Margaret Mary in the 1998 Padre Tournament.  Steve went on to play for his father Mike at Brown Deer High School where he was named Parkland Conference Player of the year 3 times.  Regarded by many observers as the state of Wisconsin’s most sought after player in over 15 years, he is currently playing basketball at Marquette University on scholarship.

J.R. MORRIS was the tournament MVP when he played for runner-up Resurrection Catholic Academy in 1998.  At Washington High School in Milwaukee, he earned First Team honors as a junior on the All-State, All-Area and All-Conference squads... He is currently playing on the Seton Hall basketball team.
